My name is Victoria Ulrich. I am currently a high school junior and am 16 years old. I have been a dancer for 16 years. Along with this, I am a full-time high school student and take value in my education. However, even with schoolwork occupying most of my time, I have not lost my passion for dance. Dance is my outlet; it allows me to utilize my creativity in ways schoolwork cannot. In addition, I find the most effective way to alleviate my problems is through dance. It allows me to disconnect from the world around me and become in tune with my mind and body. My discovery of this concept sparked my fascination with neuroscience. Ever since, I have prioritized expanding my knowledge on this topic through extensive research on the brain, ultimately inspiring me to create this blog.
The art of dance has more complexity than most think. Dance is heavily involved with sociology, psychology, and neuroscience. Through this blog, I aim to connect my interest in science and dance by examining various neurological functions that impact dancers. My goal is to dig deep into overshadowed issues in the dance world and explain why they occur, how they affect dancers, and how to improve upon the subject. I am excited to share my knowledge on issues within the dance world, and I look forward to gaining insight from personal research and experts in the dance field. I hope this page draws attention to the intertwining relationship between the brain and dance.
